Ellen Struthers, Anthesis, Associate Director: Circularity and Waste. Ellen has worked on recycling and waste topics for around 25 years, delivering projects that increase circularity of resources around the world with a particular focus on collection, sorting and onward routes for materials. She started her career working with UK local authorities to implement recycling and food waste collection systems and since then has worked extensively with both the private and public sectors to develop, improve and measure waste and recycling services. She regularly works with multinational clients to undertake waste assessments, measure waste footprints and find solutions for hard-to-recycle products and packaging. She leads landscape reviews which help clients understand how regulation and waste and recycling infrastructure influence the fate of material within different countries, helping them to develop strategies, plan interventions, identify partnerships and support the case for investment in change. Ellen recently worked with RRUK to assess how the UK can reduce plastic waste in the residual waste stream.
